Professional Experience

Current Position:

Once a Pirate, Always a Pirate!  When I was nine years old, my parents, Ken and Jan Hudson, moved our family from Western Oklahoma to Byng.  Both of my parents taught at Byng, and my brother, sister, and I graduated as Byng Pirates.  I remained a Pirate teaching Gifted and Talented at Byng Elementary School, then Grades 3 and 5 at Homer Elementary School until 1992 when my husband, children, and I relocated to Joplin, Missouri.  

Fast forward 27 years – I am happy to return to Byng Public Schools and continue a Pirate’s life while serving as JOM Counselor to our students!

  • Texas Education Service Center Region 11, Fort Worth, TX – Regional Federal Programs Consultant (2008-2012, 2017-2019)

Family Information:

I am a proud mother, mother-in-law, and – best of all – grandmother to Chloe (22), Ainsley (15), Anthony (10), Myles (4), and Baylea (2). 

I absolutely love spending time with my entire family!  Most favorite activies include the great outdoors – playing games, camping, grilling, chilling, swimming, and traveling.  Two of our favorite indoor activites are cooking together and catching the latest movies in theaters.  

 

Personal Information:

To put it simply, I like to have fun.  I dabble in art, catch the latest movies in theaters, and spend random time with family and friends.

Travel is a passion and hobby.  Whether by plane, train, automobile, or ship, I am ready to go!  I recently completed my first solo expedition (destination Baja, Mexico) and had a wonderful time meeting new people and exploring new cultures!
